Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Rhyelle Aisea?
Rhyelle Aisea is the reigning Miss Hibiscus and Miss Suva 2025, representing Fiji’s capital city at the upcoming Miss Fiji Pageant. She is a 20-year-old university student of Rotuman and Fijian heritage whose platform focuses on youth empowerment, inclusive development, and intergenerational leadership.
What does “Miss Hibiscus” represent?
The Hibiscus Festival, now nearing its 70th year, is the oldest and most celebrated pageant in the Pacific — Fiji’s premier celebration of culture, leadership, and community spirit. Holding the Hibiscus crown means carrying forward a legacy that honours service, integrity, and social impact.
What inspired Rhyelle to join pageantry?
It all began with a prayer — a simple wish for more opportunities. Although stepping onto a public stage was daunting, Rhyelle’s parents reminded her that this was an answer to her prayer for “more.” Encouraged by their faith, she stepped forward with courage and trust.
She now sees pageantry as a calling from God — a chance to inspire women and girls from small communities to push beyond fear and make use of opportunities that seem difficult at first. Through her journey, Rhyelle hopes to show that when faith meets determination, growth and purpose follow.
What does the Hibiscus crown mean to her personally?
For Rhyelle, the Hibiscus crown represents responsibility and representation. It symbolises Suva’s vibrant spirit and the generations of women who have carried this title before her. The crown reminds her that true influence lies in service — in using her platform to highlight real issues, share stories of resilience, and open doors for others to shine.
What is Rhyelle’s advocacy or platform?
Rhyelle’s advocacy, “Youth at the Centre,” focuses on placing young people at the heart of Fiji’s development. She believes progress happens when youth are empowered to lead, contribute, and shape policy. Her platform promotes diversity, inclusion, and cultural grounding — ensuring that all voices, from every background, are heard and valued. Rhyelle aims to inspire a new generation of leaders who will build a stronger and more connected Pacific by centring development around Fiji’s traditions and the perspectives of its youth.

What happens after Miss Fiji?
Regardless of the pageant outcome, Rhyelle’s mission continues. As Miss Hibiscus 2025, she will carry on with her civic attachments, mentorships, and youth-led initiatives throughout her reign — using her platform to celebrate Pacific identity and inspire young leaders.
Together with her chaperone, Alisi Rabukawaqa — Miss Fiji 2011 and Miss South Pacific 2011 — Rhyelle is helping develop a new platform designed to empower future titleholders. Their goal is to create a lasting space where young leaders can use their voice, influence, and visibility to meaningfully contribute to community development, social advocacy, and cultural dialogue across Fiji and the Pacific.
